1. Do I need previous acting experience to attend?

Applicants do not require previous acting experience to audition.
 

2. Is there a minimum/ maximum age limit?

The minimum entry age for Kingdom School of Arts is 16. There is no upper age limit. Admission to the school is by audition only.
 

3. Do I need to audition to take part in Kingdom classes?

Yes. All applicants must audition. We are unable to offer anyone a place if they have not undergone an audition.
 

4. Do I need to audition if I have previous acting experience?

Yes. All applicants must audition. We are unable to offer anyone a place if they have not undergone an audition.
 

5. How long is the term and when are the classes?

Duration: 8 weeks per term (once a week on Sundays)
Class times: 1pm - 4pm & 5pm - 8pm
Class duration: 3 hours

6. Do I have to attend every week?

Yes. Attendance is mandatory at every class.
 

7. I’m already represented by another agency. Can I still audition for Kingdom Drama School?

Yes. We welcome all applications from represented and self-represented actors alike. Our talent agency, Apex, is a separate entity to Kingdom School of Arts. Being represented by another agency will not influence the outcome of your audition.


AUDITION FAQs


8. What are Kingdom auditions for?

Auditions are only for entry into Kingdom School of Arts.
 

9. What is the audition process?

Auditionees are led through a group-based workshop, combining improvisation and text-based exercises. Please note that applicants are not required to prepare any audition material in advance.
 

10. How long will the audition workshop last?

The workshop begins at 2pm and finishes around 5pm. Please note that latecomers will not be admitted into the audition workshop.
 

11. Where will the audition take place?

ArtsEd, Bath Road, Chiswick, London, W4 1LY

 

12. How often do auditions take place?

Auditions are held once every month.
 

13. Is there an audition fee?

Yes. The audition fee is £20 (please note that spaces are strictly limited). The audition fee is a standard practice at all drama schools and covers various administration costs.
 

14. Do I have to prepare anything beforehand?

No. There is no need to prepare any monologues, scripts, or other extracts for our audition workshops.
 

15. What should I wear?

  • Loose comfortable clothing which enables free movement

  • Applicants should avoid wearing skirts

  • Applicants should avoid low cut tops

  • All jewellery and accessories must be removed before the audition
     

16. What does Kingdom look for at an audition?

The panel will assess you on the following criteria:

  1. Talent

  2. How you take direction

  3. Your willingness to listen to other auditionees

  4. Your willingness to work on the craft of acting
     

17. When will I hear back after the audition?

The school will contact the applicant with a decision within 7 days of the audition. If the applicant has been successful, they will be given details regarding enrolment and payment options for the tuition fees.

If the applicant has been unsuccessful and they wish to re-audition, the applicant must wait a minimum of 12 months before re-applying.
 

18. How do I book an audition?

Click the button provided below and you will be taken to our auditions page where you can reserve a place at one of our auditions. Once the booking has been placed, an email and text message will be sent as confirmation of the audition. A further email and text message reminder will be sent the day before the audition.

19. What does Kingdom teach?

20. Is it full-time or part-time?

The course is part-time.
 

21. Does the school offer different course levels?

No. At Kingdom School of Arts, we believe in creating a nurturing space devoid of hierarchy so that our students can focus on their individual journeys. Students are arranged into either ‘fresher’ or ‘returning student’ classes.
 

22. What are the class sizes?

Each class contains roughly 20 students.


Apex faqs


23. What is Apex?

Apex Talent Agency is a theatrical agency, representing a diverse client roster for film, television, commercials and theatre. The agency works in partnership with Kingdom School of Arts.
 

24. Can I join Apex?

Like most talent agencies, Apex can only manage a select number of clients. Representation is by direct invitation only.  

Students who excel at the Kingdom have the opportunity to be represented by the agency. Management with Apex is only for current students who have specifically been offered representation.
